Studied at Leninogorsk Pedagogical College of Music and Art (1968–1972); the Repin Institute of Arts (1982–1988) in the Faculty of Painting under P. T. Fomin; the Creative Workshop of the USSR Academy of Arts (1989–1993) under A. A. Mylnikov. Member of the St Petersburg Union of Artists (1991). Teaches at St Petersburg Art College (since 1993), CAFA in Beijing, China (2006). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2010). Awarded the Gold Medal of the USSR Academy of Arts (1988). Lives and works in St Petersburg (since 1979). Main collections: Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts (St Petersburg); National Gallery of Armenia (Yerevan, Armenia), Reading Public Museum (Reading, USA).
