Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1948–1953); the Repin Institute of Arts (1953–1959) in the Faculty of Painting under A. D. Zaitsev, V. V. Sokolov and L. V. Khudiakov. Exhibited from 1959. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1960), the Gruppa “Odinnadtsati” (Group of “Eleven”) association (1972). Taught at Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1961–1968). Main collections: State Russian Museum (St Petersburg), Alupka Palace and Park Museum- Reserve, National Museum of the Chechen Republic (Grozny), State art museums in Arkhangelsk, Ivanovo, Krasnoyarsk, Petrozavodsk, Roslavl, Tomsk, Vologda and others.
