Studied at Leningrad Art and Pedagogical College (1935–1939) under A. A. Gromov, V. A. Levitsky and M. A. Aslamazian; the Repin Institute of Arts (1939–1949) in the Faculty of Painting under S. L. Abugov, M. D. Bernshtein and V. M. Oreshnikov. Exhibited from 1949. Member of the Leningrad Union of Soviet Artists (1949). Taught at the Tartu Branch of the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR (1951–1952); Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1953– 1960); Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1961–1967).
