Studied at the Repin Institute of Arts (1969–1975) in the Faculty of Painting under A. A. Mylnikov. Exhibited since 1976. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1979), the St Petersburg Academy of Contemporary Art association (1996), the Deutscher Künstlerbund (Germany). Taught in the Evening Drawing Classes at the Repin Institute of Arts (1976–1984); at Leningrad Art College (1978). Lives and works in St Petersburg and Hamburg, Germany (since 2001). Main collections: State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (all St Petersburg), National Museum of the Chechen Republic (Grozny), State art museums in Astrakhan, Perm and Petrozavodsk; V.
