Studied at the studio of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia – Association of Artists of the Revolution (1927–1929) under A. R. Eberling; the Repin Institute of Arts (1930–1937) in the Faculty of Painting under D. N. Kardovsky. Exhibited from 1939. Member of the Penza Union of Soviet Artists (1938), the Moscow Branch of the Union of Soviet Artists (1946) and the Leningrad Union of Soviet Artists (1947). Taught at Penza Art College (1937–1939), Moscow Secondary School of Art (1944–1947), Leningrad College of Art and Design – Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1947–1989). WWII veteran, awarded the Order of the Red Star, Orders of the Patriotic War, 1st and 2nd class, the medal For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945. Main collections: State art museums in Arkhangelsk, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Novokuznetsk, Solikamsk and Vladivostok.
