Theatre and film artist
Studied at Saratov Art College (1936–1940) in the Theatre Department. Exhibited from 1952. Worked at Saratov Opera and Ballet Theatre as an artist-decorator (1940), a production designer (1941–1945), chief production designer (1945–1952); chief production designer at Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre (1952–1962); chief production designer at S. M. Kirov State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (1963–1981); production designer in many theatres throughout the USSR. Created set and costume designs for over two performances. Honoured Art Worker of the RSFSR (1955), People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1961). Main collections: State Central Theatre Museum, State Museum of A. S. Pushkin (Moscow), Literary and Memorial Museum of F. M. Dostoevsky (St Petersburg), Schelykovo State Memorial and Nature Museum-Reserve of A. N.
