Studied at Leningrad State University (1972–1977) in the Faculty of Geology; preparatory courses for Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design and the Repin Institute of Arts (1974–1977). Exhibited since 1975. Member of the Association of Experimental Fine Art (1981), the Mitki group (1984), IFA (1991), the A–Ya society (1993), the Artists’ Union of Russia (1994). Author of the book Mitki (1984), co-scriptwriter for the animated film Mitki-Mayer (1992). Winner of the prize Art Awards. Artist of the Year 06 (2007). Lives and works in St Petersburg.
