Studied at Samara Drawing School (1917–1919); the State Art Workshop-Studio, Irkutsk (1920–1924) under I. L. Kopylov; VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1926–1930) in the Faculty of Painting under K. S. Petrov-Vodkin, A. A. Rylov, P. A. Shillingovsky and D. I. Kiplik; P. N. Filonov’s studio (1925–1926). Exhibited from 1947. Member of the USSR Union of Soviet Artists (1946). Worked at Leningrad Committee of Book and Graphic Artists of the Trade Union of Art Workers (1934–1941), as Head of the Art Studio of the Red Army Military Medicine Museum (1946 – late 1940s), in the Experimental Printing Studio of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (from 1946).
