Studied at Samara Drawing School (1917–1919); the State Art Workshop-Studio, Irkutsk (1920–1924) under I. L. Kopylov; VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1926–1930) in the Faculty of Painting under K. S. Petrov-Vodkin, A. A. Rylov, P. A. Shillingovsky and D. I. Kiplik; P. N. Filonov’s studio (1925–1926). Exhibited from 1947. Member of the USSR Union of Soviet Artists (1946). Worked at Leningrad Committee of Book and Graphic Artists of the Trade Union of Art Workers (1934–1941), as Head of the Art Studio of the Red Army Military Medicine Museum (1946 – late 1940s), in the Experimental Printing Studio of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (from 1946). Main collections: A. S. Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, State Tretyakov Gallery (both Moscow), Central Naval Museum, State Memorial Museum of the Defence and Siege of Leningrad, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Museum of Theatre and Music, State Russian Museum, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (all St Petersburg), State art museums in Arkhangelsk, Bryansk, Ivanovo, Kemerovo, Magadan, Novokuznetsk, Vladimir and others.
