Studied at the First Art College, Leningrad (1940–1941); Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1941– 1942, 1947–1948); the Repin Institute of Arts (1948–1954) in the Faculty of Graphic Art under M. A. Taranov. Exhibited from 1954. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1955), the Old Peterhof School – Sterligov School (1963–1973). Worked as an artist in the Detgiz, Lenizdat, Goslitizdat, Sovetskii pisatel (Soviet Writer), Detskaia literatura (Children’s Literature) and other publishing houses (1954–2014). Awarded the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2003), the Silver Medal of St Peter the Apostle (2009). WWII veteran, awarded medals For Courage, For Merit in Battle, For the Defence of Leningrad, For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945. Main collections: State Museum of Urban Sculpture, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (both St Petersburg), Breaking of the Siege of Leningrad Museum- Reserve (Leningrad Region), State art museums in Astrakhan, Kazan, Khimki, Novosibirsk, Penza, Petrozavodsk and Yaroslavl.
