Painter, graphic, theatre artist
Studied at Leningrad Art and Pedagogical College (1924– 1926) under P. A. Mansurov and M. P. Bobyshov; the Masters of Analytical Art school (1926–1930) under P. N. Filonov. Member of the Masters of Analytical Art group (1926– 1932). Worked as a technical draughtsman in the Provincial Forestry Administration, Petrograd (1919), an artistdesigner in the Velikiye Luki Drama Theatre (1919–1924); a designer of public celebrations, theatre and circus productions (1928–1933), a designer of interiors of museums and various public buildings (1933– 1935); an artist-decorator at the Votkinsk Plant (1942–1946); a designer of sports parades (1940s–1950s), of pavilions at the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition in Moscow (1950s) and the Brussels World’s Fair (1958). Taught at the secondary school in Velikiye Luki (1924), at Leningrad State Theatre Institute – Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinema (1958–1965). Dostoevsky, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum (all St Petersburg), Museum of the History and Culture of Votkinsk, State art museums in Ivangorod, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Novgorod and Stavropol.
