Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1965–1972); the Repin Institute of Arts (1972–1978) in the Faculty of Painting under A. A. Mylnikov. Exhibited since 1978. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1982), the St Petersburg Academy of Contemporary Art association (1996). Creator of monumental works for public buildings in St Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk and Sayanogorsk. Taught at the Repin Institute of Arts (1982–1989); St Petersburg State University (since 2008). Lives and works in St Petersburg.
