Studied at the A. V. Schusev Art School, Kishinev (1960–1964); the I. Ye. Repin Republican Art College, Kishinev (1964–1968); the Repin Institute of Arts (1968–1975) in the Faculty of Painting under I. A. Serebriany; the Sterligov School, Leningrad (1971–1973). Exhibited since 1974. Member of IFA (1990), the Artists’ Union of the Republic of Moldova (1993), the Artists’ Union of Russia (2003). Master of Art of the Republic of Moldova (1999). Awarded the Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2005). Lives and works in St Petersburg (since 1968). Main collections: State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), Museum of Nonconformist Art, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (all St Petersburg), Museum of Organic Culture (Kolomna), State art museums in Saransk and Yaroslavl; A.
