Studied at Leningrad Institute of Agriculture (1964–1969); Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1970–1975) in the Faculty of Design; International University of Fundamental Education in St Petersburg. Exhibited since 1991. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1990), AICA, St Petersburg Society of Philosophy. Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2016). Honourary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2014), Academician of the Academy of Folk Art (2015). Lives and works in St Petersburg since 1964.
