Studied drawing under N. F. Lapshin (1938–1942); Leningrad College of Civil Engineering (1948–1950). Exhibited from 1965. Member of the Order of Destitute Painters – Arefiev Circle group (1948), the Aleph group (1975–1977), the Association of Experimental Fine Art (1983), IFA (1991), the Mitki group (1994). Worked as a colourist in a cardboard factory, painter of fabric scarves, laboratory assistant at the Botanical Institute, stoker, house painter (1950s–1980s). Main collections: State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), Museum of Nonconformist Art, State Russian Museum, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (all St Petersburg), B. M. Kustodiev Regional Picture Gallery (Astrakhan), Far Eastern Art Museum (Khabarovsk).
