Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1967–1974); the Repin Institute of Arts (1974–1981) in the Faculty of Graphic Art under V. A. Vetrogonsky. Exhibited since 1976. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1981). Taught at St Petersburg State Academy of Art and Design (2001–2007, 2009–2010); teaches at St Petersburg State University (since 2012). Lives and works in St Petersburg. Main collections: Moscow Museum of Modern Art, ROSIZO (both Moscow), Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg (both St Petersburg), Gatchina State Museum-Reserve (Leningrad Region), State art museums in Kazan, Khanty-Mansiysk, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk, Saransk, Vologda, Yoshkar-Ola and others.
