Studied at VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1925–1930) in the Faculty of Painting under O. E. Braz, K. S. Petrov-Vodkin and A. A. Rylov. Exhibited from 1930. Member of the Krug khudozhnikov (Circle of Artists) association 1929–1932), the All-Russian Trade Union of Art Workers (1932), the Leningrad Union of Soviet Artists (1947). Worked as an artist for the magazine Rabochii (Worker, 1928), at the Molodaia gvardiia (Young Guard), Detgiz, Lenizdat publishing houses (1931–1970s). Taught at Leningrad Institute of Urban Construction Engineers (1939); the Repin Institute of Arts (1945–1947). Main collections: ROSIZO, State Central Museum of the Modern History of Russia, State Museum of the History of Russian Literature (all Moscow), Central Museum of Communications, State Russian Museum (both St Petersburg).
