Studied at Irkutsk Art Workshop-Studio (1919–1924) under I. L. Kopylov; VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1925–1929) in the Faculty of Painting under K. S. Petrov-Vodkin, A. I. Savinov and A. Ye. Karev; in the Masters of Analytical Art school (1925–1929) under P. N. Filonov. Exhibited from 1921. Member of the Union of Soviet Artists (1932). Worked as an artist in the Uchpedgiz, Detgiz, GIKHL (State Fiction Publishers), Molodaia gvardiia (Young Guard) publishing houses (1925–1930s); in the Experimental Printing Studio in Leningrad (1938– 1940s).
