Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1959–1965); the Repin Institute of Arts (1965–1971) in the Faculty of Painting under Ye. Ye. Moiseenko. Exhibited since 1971. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1973). Teaches at the Repin Institute of Arts (since 1986), Professor (2003). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (1997). Lives and works in St Petersburg.
