Studied at T. G. Shevchenko Art School, Kiev (1955–1957); Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1959–1965) in the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting under A. L. Kazantsev. Exhibited since 1966. Member of the Gruppa vosmi – Lestnitsa (Group of Eight – Stairs) association (1975), the USSR Union of Artists (1977), IFA (1992), the Beznadezhnye zhivopistsy (Hopeless Painters) group (2002). Worked as an artist at the Art and Design Workshops and the Applied Art and Sculpture Workshops of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Art Fund (1967–1987). Creator of monumental works for public buildings in Gatchina, Kaliningrad, Kostroma, Kuibyshev, Nerekhta, St Petersburg and Tomsk. Lives and works in St Petersburg (since 1959). Main collections: Moscow Museum of Modern Art, ROSIZO (both Moscow), Central Museum of Communications, S. P. Diaghilev Museum of Contemporary Art, State Literary and Memorial Museum of Anna Akhmatova at the Fountain House, State Museum of Theatre and Music, State Museum of Urban Sculpture, State Russian Museum, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (all St Petersburg), State art museums in Astrakhan, Kazan, Khabarovsk, Murmansk, Perm, Petrozavodsk and Veliky Novgorod.
