The exhibition "Fragments of Epochs" from the collection of the MASP will open in the new building given to the Museum of the 20th-21st Century Art of St Petersburg (an affiliated body of the Manege Central Exhibition Hall) by the city administration in the end of 2024. The building at the Griboyedov Canal, 101 covers a vast territory. The exhibition Fragments of Epochs opens for public the staterooms adapted for the museum space on the first floor of the building, the former mansion of the merchant Ivan Alafuzov.

The exhibition layout is not chronological. Exposition is made up of more than 100 (out of the existing 12,000 museum pieces) works of painting, sculpture, objects, decorative and applied art - old and new museum acquisitions, which, as separate fragments of epochs, testify to the diversity of the collection and its artistic significance for the cultural geography of the city. The artists of the presented works belong to different generations and their oeuvre demonstrates different stylistic practices and searches for visual solutions. Thanks to the differences, the dialogue of arts in the exposition looks more expressive and more obvious is the wealth of the collection revealed in the discovery of cultural trends and aesthetics of different periods.
