Exhibition of Semion Guliako (b. 1951) presented one of the most original contemporary Petersburg artists, who started his career in the 1980s and moved to abstract art in the 1990s. Exposition included graphic works, canvases and objects created over the past four decades. The artist works in series, developing a certain idea, spinning it like a crystal in his imagination, and afterwards presenting the images born by its facets in his oeuvre. For example, the graphic series Kharms' 12 Dreams is dedicated to the outstanding Soviet writer and poet-innovator Daniil Kharms. And the poignant pictorial 2018 series Shards is an allusion to the tragedy of war, though not experienced, but deeply felt by Guliako. The display presented over 40 pieces including dynamic abstractions dedicated to the turbulent 1990s and meditative compositions inspired by nature among other works.

The exhibition was located in the MASP first floor galleries.
