At the next meeting of the MASP Film Club there will be a screening of the French film Au hasard Balthazar (1966) directed by Robert Bresson – a classic example of the mid-20th century cinéma d'auteur. The film tells about the fate of a donkey named Balthazar and his relationship with the people around him.
Nikita Denisov, founder of the youth film club Everyone Has His Own Cinema, will lead the event. Museum guests will not only get acquainted with the film, but will also discuss its contents: the director's approach and the peculiarities of the narrative, the soundtreck and biblical symbols typical of Bresson's work.
