The art mediation Komsomol Girls, Sportswomen and Simply Beauties is dedicated to multifaceted female images. In the portraits presented at the Light and Air exhibition one can meet refined fashionistas and young charmers reminiscent of Renoir's actresses. Strong-willed heroines appear in contrast to them – statuesque collective farmers, shockworkers and factory workers, designed to overturn conventional ideas of femininity. Participants of the art mediation will discuss, looking at the paintings, popular Soviet images and female archetypes, compare the ideals of today and the past XX century, and formulate their own idea of a “beautiful lady”.
