We continue to explore Japanese culture which the Impressionists were so fond of. At the event the artist Alla Gracheva, head of the Yukimi Ink Painting Studio, will tell us about the history of Japanese Sumi-e painting and the philosophy behind this art.
Koi carp will be the theme of the workshop. A koi carp is a symbol of courage and achievement, and a carp overcoming a turbulent stream is a symbol of fortitude. Fish is also a symbol of friendship and love. By the way the word “koi” is consonant with the Japanese word for “love” and “affection”.
