New meeting of the MASP Film Club is dedicated to the oeuvre of the iconic Armenian film director Sergei Parajanov. Art historian Sofia Kucheryavenko will talk about the unique visual style and symbolic content of his films. What are the peculiarities of Parajanov's metaphors? How did the director work with light and music? How to decipher complex images in his works? We shall learn the answers to key questions about the legendary master's legacy, watch fragments of such masterpieces as The Colour of Pomegranates and Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, and discuss their semantic, narrative and artistic features.
