The tour will be led by Anastasia Tatarnikova, an art historian, member of St Petersburg Union of Artists, author of the audio guide of the  Light and Air exhibition. You will experience a special immersion in the material, as well as get in touch with the period learning about the artists who were living witnesses and participants of various events of the time. During the tour we shall talk about French Impressionists as well, discuss the connection between the oeuvre of the Soviet artists and that of Manet, Monet, Renoir. Finally, we shall touch on formalism and remember the struggle of officials against any manifestations of Impressionism in Soviet art, highlighting the aspects that frightened authorities in those artistic revelations.
