Curator's tour is not just an introduction to the exhibition. It means special immersion into the subject, contact with a certain period of time, and a talk about the artists who were living witnesses and participants of various historical events. Olga Tolstaya, curator of the exhibition Light and Air, will share exclusive knowledge and unusual facts about the presented works. At the tour we shall remember French Impressionists, discuss the connection between the works of Soviet painters and the art of Monet, Manet, Renoir. Finally, we shall talk about formalism – about the struggle of official powers against any manifestations of impressionism in Soviet art, we shall find out what frightened the authorities in these artistic revelations.
